In a recent tweet, Futbol Total stated that Barcelona are eyeing a loan move for Red Bull Leipzig full-back Angelino. It has been mentioned that the Catalan outfit are hoping to acquire the services of the Spanish defender on a loan deal this month.

Angelino’s Impressive Form In German Football Last Season
Angelino had an impressive season at the Red Bull Arena as he managed to put in several influential displays on the left side of Leipzig’s defence. The 25-year-old took part in 43 matches for the German club in the previous campaign, netting three goals and earning 12 assists in all competitions.
The Spaniard was a reliable performer down the left flank after he averaged 1.0 tackles, 1.0 interceptions, 1.1 clearances, 2.0 crosses and 1.8 key passes per game in the Bundesliga. Angelino even distributed the ball well from the left wing as he completed 76.7% of his attempted passes in the top tier of German football (stats via whoscored).
Should Barcelona Boss Xavi Get Angelino On Board This Summer?
Angelino is a solid tackler of the ball and can earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He is usually quick to spot the danger and can make a few important clearances at the back. The Spanish sensation is a decent crosser of the ball as well and can create some inviting opportunities for his teammates to find the back of the net. He is primarily a left-back but can even fill in as a left-sided winger if his manager tells him to do so.
Thus, it is only logical for Barca boss Xavi to try and get Angelino on board, even if it is on a loan deal this summer. He will add a lot of quality to the Catalan club‘s backline and increase competition for places within their match-day squad.
Angelino is good enough to secure a regular starting spot at the Nou Camp next season. Furthermore, he could help the Catalan giants challenge for some major trophies over the next 12 months if Xavi can find a way to land him on loan before the end of this summer transfer window.
