In a recent report, the Daily Express revealed that Liverpool have identified PSV Eindhoven talent Ibrahim Sangare as a target. It is believed that the Ivory Coast international is one of the options that the Reds are targetting to strengthen their midfield for the future.
Sangare’s Decent Form In Dutch Football Last Season
Sangare managed to put in a series of impressive performances at the centre of PSV’s midfield in the previous campaign. The 24-year-old was involved in 48 matches for the Dutch outfit last season, finding the back of the net on four occasions and earning four assists on all fronts.
The Ivory Coast sensation performed at a high level at the centre of the park and did well to average 3.3 tackles, 2.6 interceptions, 1.0 clearances, 1.4 shots, 0.8 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Dutch Eredivisie. He even distributed the ball relatively well from midfield after completing 86.1% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
Is Sangare A Good Option For Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp?
Sangare is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his team at the centre of the park. He usually clears the danger when needed and can make a few clever runs with the ball towards the opponent’s penalty area. He can strike the ball well from long range and can create some inviting chances in the final third.
Therefore, it makes sense for Liverpool to move in for him as he ticks all the right boxes in terms of what Jurgen Klopp demands from his midfielders. He will add more quality to the Reds‘ midfield department and could even help them compete for even more silverware over the next few years.
There is no doubt that Sangare will increase competition for places within Klopp’s match-day squad. All in all, he will be a decent option for the Merseyside club to consider during this summer transfer window. At 24, the Ivory Coast talent will only get better in the coming seasons and could have a great resale value in the future as well. Sangare fits the bill perfectly, so Klopp should focus on getting him on board this summer.
