Manchester United have rewarded Antonio Valencia for his excellent form with a brand new contract. The right-back signed a new two-year contract to pledge his future to the club.
Valencia has established himself as the first choice right back under Jose Mourinho this season and has earned accolades for his performances.
Having arrived from Wigan in 2009, the 31-year-old has thrived at the Old Trafford and has transformed to a proper right back from a right winger.
Across seven seasons, the Ecuadorian has appeared in more than 200 matches for the Red Devils and has won a number of trophies including the Premier League two times.
Valencia who was also adjudged United’s the player of the month for November thought that he won’t be offered a new contract. But his brilliant form on the right flank has led Mourinho to give the go-ahead for his extension.
The Ecuadorian has been in phenomenal form this term and has seen off competitions from Matteo Darmian and Timothy Fosu-Mensah for the position of right back.
