In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Real Madrid are hoping to recruit Andrea Belotti on a free transfer this summer. It has been claimed that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to bring the Italian striker to Spain in this off-season.
Belotti’s Good Form At Turin
Belotti had a decent campaign in Italian football as he managed to put in some promising displays as the focal point of Torino’s attack. The Calcinate-born talent scored eight times and earned one assist in 23 matches for the Italian club last season in various competitions.
The Italy international caught the eye by averaging 2.6 shots, 0.5 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per game in Serie A. However, he lacked quality when distributing the ball deep inside the opponent’s half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 70.7% in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored).
What Will Belotti Add To Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti’s Side?
Belotti is proficient at getting a few shots in on-target and can be a good finisher in front of the opponent’s goal when he is playing well in the final third. He can even create some decent chances for his teammates up top but needs to time his runs a bit better in the opposition half.
The Italian talent has got a wealth of experience back in his homeland, so he could be tempted to try a new challenge by joining Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer.
Belotti is good enough to serve as a good back-up for Karim Benzema at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the coming seasons.
At 28, the Italian is enjoying his prime at the moment and is well-equipped to fill in as a decent player in Carlo Ancelotti‘s match-day squad. He might even help the Madrid giants challenge for even more trophies in the future.
However, only time will tell whether Belotti can make a smooth transition to life in Spanish football if Real Madrid do end up acquiring his services before the start of the new campaign.
