Newcastle United Are Monitoring The Progress Of This Gifted Starlet: Good Fit For Howe?

In a recent report, The Daily Mail claimed that Newcastle United are monitoring the progress of Red Bull Salzburg starlet Benjamin Sesko. It is understood that the Magpies are keeping tabs on the Slovenian centre-forward’s development ahead of a potential move this summer.

Sesko’s Impressive Numbers In Austrian Football Last Season

The 19-year-old impressed a lot with his performances for Salzburg in the previous campaign when he performed at a high level as the focal point of their attack. The talented teenager registered ten goals and seven assists in 36 matches for the German club last season in various competitions.

The Slovenian prospect proved himself to be a reliable performer in the final third but is still quite raw and would need time to settle into life in England if Newcastle can find a way to get him on board in this off-season.

Is Sesko A Good Fit For Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe?

Sesko can be a decent finisher in front of the opponent’s goal and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in and around the penalty box. He is usually quite clever with his movements in the final third and can cause a lot of headaches for the opposition centre-backs when he is playing well on the field.

However, there is no denying that the Slovenian whizkid is still quite inexperienced at the highest level. Thus, Newcastle will have to be patient with his progress if they can find a way to bring him to St. James’ Park this summer.

We can expect Sesko to add some much-needed firepower to Eddie Howe‘s attack. At 19, the future looks quite bright for the Salzburg youngster. Therefore, the Tyneside outfit would do well to acquire his services in this off-season.

A striker of Sesko’s potential will no doubt be a good fit for the Magpies in the long run as long as the youngster continues to take strides towards improving his game with each season. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physical nature and high intensity of English football.
