Despite several linkups, Marouane Fellaini could be retained by Jose Mourinho, according to reports. Fellaini has managed only eight starts in the Premier League this season. He was a regular under former manager Louis Van Gaal but Mourinho has preferred the 35-year-old Michael Carrick over him.
Fellaini was spotted in Italy recently. AC Milan and Inter Milan are very interested in roping in the Belgian midfielder. He has not had a very good season and also gave away the penalty against Everton after coming on from the bench. United supporters later booed him when he was warming up against Tottenham Hotspur.
It is believed that the player has accepted that he is not in Jose Mourinho’s plans and is reconsidering his future. Fellaini has demanded a wage of £120,000 and both the Milan clubs could afford it.
However, things might change as Mourinho is reportedly happy with the player’s performance and versatility and would block any move for the midfielder as United have a very busy Festive period ahead.
