Azeez’s Recent Rise In English Football
Azeez has struggled to break out as a starter in Mikel Arteta’s first team but has done well to catch the eye with his performances for the club’s youth sides.
The 19-year-old scored four times and grabbed three assists in 30 matches for the Gunners’ Under-23 side last season. He has also made one senior appearance for the North London outfit in an away win over Dundalk in the UEFA Europa League.
Azeez Set To Go Out On Loan To Spain: Good Move For Everyone Involved?
Azeez can strike the ball purely and can set up a few decent chances for his teammates in the opposition half. He has got the eye to play a decisive pass in the final third and can even make some clever runs with the ball from midfield. However, Azeez is quite inexperienced in top-flight football and would need time to improve his all-around game in the coming seasons.
The London-born talent has got the skillset to be a success story at Arsenal in the future but the youngster has to work hard to earn his place in Mikel Arteta‘s playing XI. Therefore, it makes sense for the Gunners to send him out on loan so that he can come back as a better version of himself next summer.
At 19, the English talent has got the ceiling to become a future star in the Premier League. However, for that to happen, Azeez needs to secure regular game time in top-flight football which he might have a chance of getting while on loan in Spanish football.
Thus, it will be a good move for both the English player and the North London club to part ways temporarily this summer as Arteta simply doesn’t have the luxury to offer him enough playing chances at the Emirates Stadium next season.
