Pavard’s Solid Season In German Football
Pavard had a solid campaign at the Allianz Arena as he has produced a series of impressive performances for the Bavarian giants down the right flank. The 26-year-old featured in 36 matches for Bayern last season, picking up just two assists in the process across all fronts.
The French sensation gave a good account of himself by averaging 1.4 tackles, 1.4 interceptions, 2.0 clearances, 0.7 shots and 0.7 key passes per game in Bundesliga.
He has even been tidy with his ball distribution after completing 88.1% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
Is Pavard A Good Choice For Chelsea This Summer?
Pavard is a solid tackler of the ball and can make some timely interceptions for his team inside his half. He usually clears the danger when needed and can set up a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third. Pavard is primarily a right-back but can also operate as a right-sided winger or as a central defender if needed.
However, the French sensation needs to improve his productivity in the opposition half if he wants to be a success story at a top club like Chelsea. Still, it remains to be seen if he can cope with the physical nature and high intensity of English football.
At 26, Pavard is about to enter his prime and has what it takes to make an instant impact at Stamford Bridge if Thomas Tuchel can find a way to get him on board in this off-season.
We can expect the Frenchman to inject more quality into the Blues‘ defensive department and is well-equipped to help them compete for even more major silverware in the coming seasons. A player of Pavard’s experience and winning mindset will be a decent choice for the West London giants to pursue during this summer transfer window.
