Liverpool winger Sadio Mane will be leaving in January to take part in AFCON but he thinks that the Reds will be even better without him.
Mane has been a key player for the Reds this season after joining from the South Coast. The Senegalese is right now the top scorer of the club with eight goals. He scored the injury time winner in the Merseyside derby to push Liverpool to second.
Philippe Coutinho has been sidelined for a brief period and could return against Manchester City which would be a huge boost for Jürgen Klopp. Since arriving from Southampton for £34m, Mane has formed an attacking trio with Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino that has helped Liverpool to score a staggering 41 goals in the Premier League.
Mane’s swift movement and slick passing has been key piece of the jigsaw. The 24-year-old said, “It will not be easy for me to go with Senegal next month.
“I would love to carry on playing with my team-mates and help my team, but I think they will understand because it is my country and it is my dream.”
