In a recent report, ESPN claimed that Real Madrid are set to complete the transfer of AS Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni this summer. It is understood that Los Blancos are close to recruiting the French midfield ace after agreeing on an €80m transfer fee for the player.
Tchouameni’s Impressive Form At The Stade Louis II
Tchouameni experienced another solid season with Monaco as he managed to produce a handful of dominant performances for them at the centre of the park. The 22-year-old has found the back of the net five times and secured three assists in 50 matches for the French club this season on all fronts.
The Rouen-born talent has been a consistent performer at the heart of Monaco’s midfield based on his average of 2.5 tackles, 2.9 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 1.6 shots, 0.6 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in Ligue 1. He has even been accurate when distributing possession going forward, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 86.7% in league football (stats via whoscored).
Is Tchouameni The Right Choice For Real Madrid Head Coach Carlo Ancelotti?
Tchouameni can get stuck in with some crunching tackles to make life tough for the opposition at the centre of the park. He has got the hunger to earn the ball back for his team and usually clears the danger when his teammates are exposed defensively at the back.
The French midfield enforcer can strike the ball with power and precision from long range and can make a few powerful runs with the ball towards the opponent’s penalty box. He hardly gives away possession cheaply but is still unproven at the highest level.
We can expect Tchouameni to inject more bite and steel into Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti‘s midfield department. At 22, he has got a very promising future ahead of him, so the Madrid giants would do well to acquire his services before the start of the new campaign.
Tchouameni will be a good choice for Real Madrid to consider for the long run and could go on to form a dominant midfield partnership with Eduardo Camavinga at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the future.
