In a recent report, LiverpoolEcho conveyed that Liverpool could land Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira as the transfer window commences this summer.
The report also states that the 21-year-old has a £12.7m release clause, should Liverpool decide to move in for the midfielder.
Vieira’s Impressive Run with Porto this season
Vieira is having a solid campaign at the Estadio do Dragao and has proved his potential as a key player for the Portuguese side. He has scored 7 goals and created 16 assists over 35 appearances this season, across all fronts.
The Portuguese talent has given a good account of himself as he has performed spectacularly in midfield this season by averaging 1.3 key passes, 1.8 long balls, and 1.6 shots per 90 minutes across all fronts. He has been impressive in distributing the ball, making 83% of his attempted passes in Portuguese top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
Should Liverpool bring the midfielder to Anfield?
Fabio Vieira is a versatile midfielder who can play in various positions across the final third. The Portuguese midfielder can hold the ball effectively. The Reds’ attack will significantly strengthen with the addition of the youngster’s talents as he has a wide area of vision which allows him to distribute the ball effectively and create some meaningful chances by delivering penetrating passes. So we can expect the talented individual to add more bite and steel to Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.
Vieira would be a great fit and can look to give competition in the midfield area. Should the midfielder move to Anfield, he will most likely be on rotation, looking to impact the game off the bench.
At 21, the Porto star will only get better with his best days still ahead of him, so it would be wise of Klopp to get him on board when the transfer window commences this summer.
