In a recent print edition, O Jogo revealed that Newcastle United would have to make an improved offer for Sporting CP defender Goncalo Inacio. It is believed that the Portuguese giants want the Magpies to up their €30m offer for their prized asset.

Inacio is having a solid campaign in Lisbon as he has put in several impressive displays at the heart of Sporting’s defence. The 20-year-old has scored five goals and grabbed three assists in 45 matches for his current club this season on all fronts.

The 20-year-old has given a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field based on his average of 1.4 tackles, 0.9 interceptions and 2.4 clearances per 90 minutes in the Liga Portugal.
