In a recent report, Express Sport mentioned that Arsenal are set to recruit Sao Paulo winger Marquinhos. It has been revealed that the Gunners are closing in on a bargain £2.5m move for the Brazilian wide player.
Marquinhos’ Recent Rise In Brazilian Football
The 19-year-old has come through the youth ranks of Sao Paulo but has struggled to find consistency since breaking out as a first-team starter in Brazil.
At such a tender age, Marquinhos has already featured in 39 senior matches for the South American giants thus far, finding the back of the net four times and picking up three assists in the process across multiple competitions.
Despite his rapid rise in Brazilian football, Marquinhos is still quite raw and would need time before he can make an impact at a club like Arsenal.
Is Marquinhos A Good Choice For Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta?
Marquinhos is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and usually packs a lot of power with his shot attempts. He is good in the air and can hold the ball up quite well for his teammates on the attacking end of the field. Marquinhos is versatile enough to play in either flank. He also tends to become alive when left isolated in a 1v1 foot race with the opposition and get to the byline using his pace and trickery.
However, the Brazilian youngster doesn’t have enough experience to make an immediate impact at Arsenal but only if can handle the physical nature and high intensity of Premier League football. Still, Marquinhos will be a brilliant, long-term choice for the Gunners to pursue during this summer transfer window.
The Brazil Under-17 international has got the potential to become a future starter at the Emirates Stadium as long as he continues to work hard on improving his game over the next few years.
At 19, the future is quite promising for the Brazilian starlet. Thus, the North London outfit should think about getting a deal done for him before the start of the new campaign.
