In a recent report by Liverpool Echo, it is being mentioned that Liverpool have made a ‘lucrative offer’ for Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni which could very well reach 60 million euros (£51m).
The report also states that the Reds might face stiff competition as Spanish giants Real Madrid are also looking to sign the midfielder. Furthermore, FSG have already made the first offer ahead of Los Blancos.
Tchouameni’s Impressive Run Of Form This Season
The French starlet has given a good account of himself by averaging 2.2 tackles, 2.7 interceptions, 0.7 clearances, 1.3 shots, 0.4 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per 90 minutes across all fronts. The 22-year-old has banged in three goals and grabbed one assist in 45 matches for the French outfit this season across all fronts and to top it off, he has also found the back of the net scoring 3 goals for the French National team.
Tchouameni is an adept playmaker as he has even been accurate when distributing the ball from midfield after making 87 % of his attempted passes in league football. The 185 cm tall midfielder has won 1.9 out of 2.7 aerial duels in offence which shows his capability in winning aerial battles in corner situations (stats via Whoscored).
Is Tchouameni A Good Option For Liverpool?
Aurelien Tchouameni usually reads the danger quickly and can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his team. The Frenchman can strike the ball with power from long range and even make some powerful runs from the midfield. We can expect the French talent to add more bite and steel to the Reds’ midfield department.
Should the defensive midfielder move to Anfield, he will most likely contend for a first-team position with Jurgen Klopp’s midfield trio comprising the likes of Thiago, Henderson and Fabinho.
At 22, Tchouameni will only get better with each season, so it won’t be a complete surprise if FSG pay a hefty transfer fee for getting him on board when the transfer window commences later this summer.
