Manchester United lock horns with Brighton at Falmer Stadium on Tuesday, hoping to pick up the three points on the away encounter. The Red Devils will be coming into the match on the back of a 3-0 victory over Brentford similar to Brighton who earned a 3-0 victory over wolves in their previous Premier League matchup.
Team News
Ralf Ragnick’s side aren’t looking good on the injury front as Manchester United remain without three players, namely – Paul Pogba (calf), Luke Shaw (knee operation), and Harry Maguire (knee).
Rangnick will probably opt for the 4-3-3 formation with a couple of tweaks from the last match as Cavani and Fred return for selection.
4-2-3-1 Predicted Manchester United Lineup Vs Brighton
Defence
David de Gea is to start in goal for the upcoming clash. The Spanish shot-stopper would look to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet.
Raphael Varane is expected to start at the heart of United’s backline, with Lindelof continuing into the right-centre back position. Diogo Dalot should start at the right-back position, whereas Alex Telles will fill in on the opposite side on the left-back.
Midfield
Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay would fill in the holding midfield positions with the former given more of a defensive role.
Fred would look to return to the starting XI in the centre attacking midfield with Edinson Cavani likely to feature in the right midfield, acting as a second striker to aid Ronaldo up front.
Bruno Fernandes will continue on the left midfield as he remains a starter for Manchester United, and the Red Devils will rely on his creativity in the final third hoping to win the three points on the weekend.
Juan Mata will have to settle for a place on the bench, but he could be brought on in the second half of the contest.
Attack
Cristiano Ronaldo continues to lead the line for Manchester United this week. The 37-year-old striker’s positioning and clinical abilities in front of the goal could cause trouble for the opposition’s backline.
