In a recent report, The Daily Mirror stated that Chelsea are set to rival Tottenham Hotspur for Stade Brestois forward Martin Satriano who is currently playing on loan from Inter Milan. It has been claimed that both the Blues and Spurs are monitoring the Uruguayan sensation’s progress ahead of a potential move in the future.
Satriano’s Impressive Form At Stade Francis Le Blé
The 21-year-old is enjoying a decent loan spell in French football as he has scored a few important goals for Stade Brestois recently. Satriano has featured in 13 matches for the French outfit this season, finding the back of the net on four occasions in all competitions.
The Montevideo-born talent has performed well to average 1.8 shots and 0.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in Ligue 1. However, he needs to work on improving his overall link-up play based on his pass success rate of 69.3% in the top tier of French football (stats via whoscored).
What Will Satriano Add To Chelsea Boss Thomas Tuchel’s Side?
Satriano excels at creating a yard of space for himself to get a few shots in on-target. He can complete a few exciting dribbles with the ball and is slowly transforming himself into a decent finisher in the final third.
However, as mentioned earlier, the Uruguayan youngster has to figure out a way to improve his passing in the opponent’s half.
Satriano has got the potential to become a world-class player in his position someday. Thus, it makes sense for the Blues to engineer a move to bring him to Stamford Bridge this summer.
We can expect Satriano to add more depth to Thomas Tuchel‘s match-day squad. However, the talented prospect might find it difficult to earn regular game time at the West London club as he is still quite raw and would need time to adjust to life in English football.
Still, the pros outweigh the cons of recruiting Satriano. Hence, Tuchel would be wise to move in for the Uruguayan sensation at the end of this campaign.
