In a recent tweet, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano offered an update on Real Madrid and their pursuit of Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger. It has been claimed that Los Blancos are close to coming to an agreement with the German centre-back but could face competition in the form of Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Manchester United in the race to land him this summer.

Rudiger is experiencing a solid campaign at Stamford Bridge as he has been responsible for putting in a series of dominant displays at the heart of Thomas Tuchel’s defence. The German defensive ace has made 47 appearances for the Blues this season, scoring five goals and securing four assists in all competitions.
The 29-year-old has proven himself to be a rock at the back by averaging 1.3 tackles, 0.9 interceptions, 2.6 clearances and 1.4 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. What Will Rudiger Bring To Real Madrid?
Rudiger is a dominant presence on the ball as he can use his strong 1.90m frame to win his fair share of aerial duels. He can time his challenges well to make a few solid interceptions inside his half. Furthermore, the German powerhouse usually clears the danger when the opposition are on the front foot.
Thus, it makes sense for Los Blancos to move in for the Chelsea star when his contract runs out at the end of this campaign. He will be a perfect low-risk, high-reward acquisition for the Spanish outfit to pursue this summer.
