In a recent report, Calciomercato (via Fichajes) stated that Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is on the radar of Lazio. It is understood that the Blues midfield ace is being eyed by his former manager Maurizio Sarri ahead of the summer transfer window.
Loftus-Cheek’s Important Role At Stamford Bridge This Season
Loftus-Cheek has played a prominent role for the West London outfit during this campaign as he has put in some solid performances at the centre of Thomas Tuchel’s midfield. The 26-year-old has picked up four assists in 31 matches for the Blues this season in all competitions.
The English talent has done well to average 1.1 tackles, 0.7 clearances, 0.9 shots, 0.6 key passes and 1.8 dribbles per game in Premier League football. He has even been excellent with his ball distribution, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 88.3% in the top tier of English football (stats via whoscored).

Can Chelsea Boss Thomas Tuchel Afford To Lose Loftus-Cheek?
Loftus-Cheek is a solid tackler of the ball and usually senses the danger quickly which helps him clear his lines when the opposition are on the front foot. He can strike the ball with power and accuracy from long range. The ten-time England international excels at retaining possession at the centre of the park and can even make some intelligent runs with the ball towards the opponent’s penalty area.
At 26, Loftus-Cheek is currently entering his prime, so Thomas Tuchel can expect to get the best out of him if he decides to keep hold of him beyond this summer. He is good enough to serve as an ideal successor to N’Golo Kante, who is entering the last phase of his playing career.
His contract at Stamford Bridge is set to run in the summer of 2024. Hence, there is no immediate need for Chelsea to cash in on him at the end of this campaign. Loftus-Cheek has got enough experience and is good enough to play an important role for the West London giants over the next few years. Furthermore, the English midfield ace could help the Blues bring even more success back to Stamford Bridge in the coming seasons.
