Leeds United are moving away from the dreaded drop zone with just eight matches left to play for them in the Premier League. Jesse Marsch has currently got a big rebuilding job in his hands, so he will be eager to find out about which players he can rely on in the final few weeks of this campaign.
Leeds’ Frustrating Campaign In English Football
The West Yorkshire outfit made a slow start to this campaign as they struggled to get a series of favourable results on the field. Leeds suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Arsenal which eliminated them from the Carabao Cup back in October last year.
The Whites had a lot of their key players injured which saw their performances suffer because of it. They ended up getting knocked out of the FA Cup as well after suffering a 2-0 defeat away at West Ham United at the start of this calendar year.
Marcelo Bielsa ended up being relieved of his duties last month before Jesse Marsch came in as the Yorkshire club’s next permanent manager.
What Should Leeds United Boss Jesse Marsch’s Goals Be For This Season?
Leeds United have to make sure that they get as much distance from the relegation zone as possible so that they can ensure their Premier League lives for another season.
The Whites are currently sitting in 16th place, seven points above 18th placed, Watford in the league standings. Thus, Marsch has every reason to be optimistic about his side’s chances of having a successful end to this campaign as there will be less pressure on the Leeds players’ shoulders.
With some exciting fixtures coming up against Southampton, Watford and Crystal Palace next month, the Whites would be eager to put some points on board. Plus, Marsch could use this period to experiment a bit with his formations, tactics and lineups ahead of the summer transfer window.
All in all, the Leeds supporters do not have much to be excited about but they should be quite happy if the Whites can avoid getting themselves dragged into a relegation dogfight in the final few weeks of this season.
