Manchester City are doing well in three different competitions as they are dreaming of a treble this season. The Mancunian outfit have still got a two-point lead over Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table and are also going strong in the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League.
Man City’s Season At A Glance So Far
Pep Guardiola‘s men began the campaign well and managed to get a big lead in the English top-flight. However, Liverpool have crawled their way back into the title picture in recent weeks which has put a lot of pressure on the league leaders to win all of their remaining matches this season.
However, the Mancunian giants failed to retain the Carabao Cup as they crashed out of the competition after losing to West Ham United on penalties (5-3) back in October last year.
Still, Guardiola’s side deserves a lot of credit for reaching the quarterfinal stage of the UEFA Champions League where they will now face off against Atletico Madrid over two legs next month. Man City have also got a date with Liverpool in the FA Cup semifinals and will be confident about going all the way in that competition.
What Should Man City Boss Pep Guardiola Focus On This Season?
Man City have still got a lot to play for this season. Their main focus would obviously be on the UEFA Champions League as Guardiola tries to bring the European trophy to the Etihad Stadium for the first time in their history.
Otherwise, the Mancunian club would be expected to win the Premier League title if they can avoid defeat against Liverpool in the Premier League on April 10.
The FA Cup would be Man City’s third priority even though they are just a few wins away from lifting the trophy.
Guardiola would rely on Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez and Kevin De Bruyne to carry most of the goal-scoring workload for his team. All in all, the Man City fans can expect an exciting end to this campaign with their team fighting for a treble that would cement their legacy as one of the greatest football dynasties of all time.
