In a recent report, Tutto Juve claimed that Manchester City striker is on the radar of Juventus. It has been revealed that the Man City forward might look for a change of scenery this summer with Juve willing to sign him but for a fee ‘not higher than €30m’.
Jesus’ Impressive Form In English Football
Jesus is having a campaign of mixed emotions as he has struggled to get a regular run of games in Pep Guardiola’s starting XI but has still managed to put in a few influential displays up top. The Brazil international has registered six goals and ten assists in 29 matches for the Mancunian giants this season across multiple competitions.
The 24-year-old has given a good account of himself by averaging 2.1 shots, 1.3 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even been accurate when distributing possession in the attacking end of the field, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 86.1% in the English first division (stats via whoscored).
Should Manchester City Cut Jesus Loose This Summer?
Jesus can strike the ball with power and accuracy and is a decent finisher in front of the opposition goal. He is a quick and agile forward who can make some dangerous runs in behind the opponent’s defence. The Brazilian sensation can even create a few meaningful openings for his teammates in the attacking end of the field. He is primarily a centre-forward but the Premier League leaders have often used him as a right-sided wide player this season.
At the moment, Man City simply cannot afford to lose Jesus as he remains their only recognized centre-forward. However, if Pep Guardiola can devise a way to get a quality striker on board this summer, then it would make sense for the Mancunian outfit to cut Jesus loose.
At 24, the South American talent has still got a promising future ahead of him. Thus, it makes sense for him to seal a move away from the Etihad Stadium in search of more first-team chances in the coming seasons.
