Manchester United are looking to get back to winning ways as they play hosts to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. It could be a potential six-pointer given the context of the top four race. United are currently standing fifth in the league table, but with Arsenal having three games in hand, there should be no room for complacency for Ralf Rangnick’s men.

Tottenham are involved in a similar situation, as the Londoners look to move up the league table following a run of inconsistent performances. The Lilywhites are currently seventh in the league table, but a win on Saturday could see them climb up to fifth, level on points with cross-town rivals Arsenal.

Talking Tactics

Manchester United

Despite getting hammered by Manchester City, Rangnick is unlikely to bring about any tactical changes or shift away from his trusted 4-2-3-1 setup. However, we can expect United to deploy a more recognised centre forward given how the team struggled in testing the Man City backline last week.

Tottenham

Antonio Conte has no reason to tinker with his 3-4-2-1 setup that obliterated Everton in their last game. Expect the wing-backs to continue providing width while the two advanced forwards could operate centrally hoping to form a free-flowing attacking trifecta alongside the lone number nine in Harry Kane.

Manchester United

Manchester United are sweating on the fitness of several star players including Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Raphael Varane. While Varane is likely to make his return, we may see Marcus Rashford spearheading the frontline for United this weekend, in light of Ronaldo and Cavani’s lack of fitness.

Tottenham

Tottenham have had Ryan Sessegnon ruled out heading into this game. The youngster joins Japhet Tanganga and Oliver Skipp in the club’s list of absentees. Sessegnon’s absence could pave the way for Sergio Reguilon to start at left wing-back, giving him a valuable opportunity to prove himself following a difficult start under Conte.
