According to Jose Mourinho Zlatan Ibrahimović‘s performance in the Premier League proves that he made the right decision by agreeing on a move to Manchester United.
Ibrahimović scored his 14th goal for Manchester United to give the Red Devils a nervy 2-1 win over Crystal Palace. They are now in sixth place with 27 points, 13 points adrift of Chelsea who defeated Sunderland 1-0 to keep their top place intact.
Besides scoring the winner the Swede also set up United’s opener by Paul Pogba although he was appeared to have handled the ball slightly which might have ignored by the referee.
At the age of 35, Zlatan is looking hungrier and sharper than before. Last season he bagged 50 goals in his tally but didn’t renew his contract with Paris Saint-Germain and instead choose to join Jose Mourinho at United.
Mourinho said, “It’s difficult to say someone is my ‘best’ ever signing, but I knew the character because, at this age, he’s a character, a personality, who has passion to play.
“The quality is there. I knew that he could do what he’s doing here. I said England is not the best place to be on holidays.
“When a rich guy with a phenomenal career wants holidays, he doesn’t come to England.
“It’s the most difficult league in the world, so if you come here, you want to show what you can do. That’s what he did.
“It’s not just about goals. It’s about leadership and motivation. I’m so happy with what he has done.”
