Manchester United have suffered another jolt as Eric Bailly had to be substituted after suffering a knee injury against Crystal Palace. Bailly recently came back from a long injury layoff which he sustained during a 4-0 defeat to Chelsea.
Manchester United defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 with goals from Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimović. Bailly played as a right back and was pretty impressive until he was subbed off at the stroke of 52nd minutes and replaced by Matteo Darmian.
Baily tried to continue after a challenge with Lee Chung-yong in the 20th minute of the game but couldn’t make it till the end. United have a very tough fixture ahead and it could be another blow if the 22-year old fails to recover in time. Added to this The Ivorian has to depart in January to take part in the AFCON.
Mourinho said, “We don’t know [yet]. It is not the same knee, it is the other one. It is the left knee. So he is not coming back to a previous injury.
“Of course he has a problem with another dimension but he showed amazing character to try and try, and try until his limit.
“The only thing I can say is that it is not the same knee.
“He had an injury in the right knee and he recovered fantastically well. Now it is the left knee. I don’t know really what he has, but let us see and wait.
“He could resist for so long. I would say for about 75 minutes he could resist. He is a special guy and his pain level is really high.”
