Liverpool clashed heads with Inter Milan at San Siro earlier tonight as they looked to secure a positive result on the road. The Reds were solid in the first 45 minutes but struggled to be decisive in the final third as they went into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.
Roberto Firmino finally managed to break the deadlock with a great header in the 75th minute. Just eight minutes later, Mohamed Salah made it 2-0 to Liverpool as he scored with a deflected shot. The contest ended with the Reds securing an impressive 2-0 victory away at Milan.
Let’s take a look at how each Liverpool player performed during the clash against Inter.
GK: Alisson Becker – 6.5/10
The Brazilian goalie didn’t have a save to make in the game and secured an important clean sheet away from home.
RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 7/10
The English right-back was sometimes caught ball-watching on the defensive end of the field. However, his ball distribution was once again excellent tonight.
CB: Ibrahima Konate – 7.5/10
Konate dealt with mostly everything that the Inter attackers threw at him and will be happy with the clean sheet.
CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 7.5/10
The Dutch centre-back controlled the game quite well from the back. He was quite vocal on the field and neutralised Edin Dzeko’s threat completely during the 90 minutes.
LB: Andrew Robertson – 8/10
The Scottish full-back worked hard at both ends of the field. He picked up an assist for setting up Firmino’s opener.
CM: Harvey Elliott – 6/10
Elliott had some bright moments in the opponent’s half but struggled to control the rhythm of the game.
CM: Fabinho – 7/10
The Brazilian midfielder broke down a handful of Inter attacks but got replaced just before the hour mark.
CM: Thiago Alcantara – 7.5/10
He controlled the game well with his passing at the centre of the park and made several crucial clearances at the back.

The Egyptian winger was always looking to get on the ball and make things happen. He grew stronger in the second half and scored the decisive second goal for Liverpool with a deflected effort.
ST: Diogo Jota – 6/10
He struggled to get into the flow of the contest and got substituted at half-time.
LW: Sadio Mane – 6/10
Mane was a bit sloppy on the ball but managed to create one good chance in the final third. However, he could last only 58 minutes.

ST: Roberto Firmino – 8/10
He caused a lot of problems for the Inter defenders in the second half and scored the opening goal with an excellent header.
LW: Luis Diaz – 7/10
He showed great composure when he got on the ball and was lively in the final third.
CM: Naby Keita – 6.5/10
Keita produced a bright performance off the bench and added some energy to Klopp’s midfield.

He brought some control back to the Liverpool midfield.
CM: James Milner – N/A
The veteran midfielder didn’t get enough minutes to warrant a rating.
