Celtic managed to maintain their unbeaten record in domestic competitions with a narrow but convincing win against at the expense of Hamilton Academical on Tuesday night. Leigh Griffiths’ 36th-minute strike proved to be the difference between the two sides after 90 minutes. The Hoops stepped one step closer to the Premiership title as well as their dream of achieving an invincible treble. Next in their way are struggling Dundee who are tenth in the table now.
Celtic are yet to be beaten by Dundee in the Premiership till date. They have won 10 out of 14 games when the two sides have locked horns while four ended in stalemates. Rodgers’ side look untouchable at the moment. They have failed to win just one game this season which was a draw. A goal difference of 32 after just 15 games shows how merciless they have been in front of goal.
We expect Rodgers to stick to the 3-5-2 formation that won him the game against Hamilton. The duo of Dembele and Griffiths did a decent job in the last game and worked together for the winner. Here is the predicted Celtic lineup against Dundee.
Defence
Scottish custodian Craig Gordon will keep his place under the bar ahead of Dorus de Vries and will be looking to sustain his form. Mikael Lustig was brilliant at the right-hand side of the three-man defence against Hamilton and should keep his place.
Erik Sviatchenko and Jozo Simunovic have been excellent this season for the Bhoys and both will keep their respective places in defence. All three Celtic defenders are calm and composed and love to play out of the back.
Midfield
Skipper Scott Brown is an undisputed choice in the middle of the park. The 31-year-old has been excellent this season for the Hoops with his industrious displays. In-form Stuart Armstrong will keep his place alongside Brown.
Aussie playmaker Tom Rogic should start as the number ten and is likely to be at the heart of everything creative for the side.
James Forrest will miss the game with an injury but Scott Sinclair has returned to the training of late and might get some minutes off the bench. Patrick Roberts and Callum McGregor are likely to keep their places on the flanks.
Attack
Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths are likely to start together up front for the Bhoys. Dembele looked to have replaced Griffiths as the first-choice striker but the latter has scored two important goals in the last two games and proved a point. The two gifted strikers will line up together up front.
