Leeds United will travel to Goodison Park on Saturday to face Everton in this weekend’s Premier League clash. Leeds are currently 15th in the league table with an opportunity to move up if they win their games in hand. A high scoring draw in midweek at Villa Park saw Bielsa’s men come back from 2 goals down at the break which will give them immense confidence going into this fixture. With the Toffees not in a great run of form, Leeds will look to capitalise on the situation and come up with all 3 points when they face each other this Saturday.
Predicted 4-2-3-1 Leeds United Lineup Vs Everton
Defence
Illan Meslier will continue between the sticks for Leeds and will hope to add to his 3 cleansheets this season in the Premier League.
Diego Llorente is expected to start at the heart of the defence after his impressive performances in the last few games along with Robin Koch who had to play in the defensive midfield role. Liam Cooper’s injury has been a big blow to Leeds’ defensive organization this season as they continue to miss the defender. Leeds have conceded the third most number of goals this season as they look to improve on it and keep things tight at the back.
Luke Ayling and Pascal Strujik will play as full-backs and look for opportunities to go up the pitch and create chances for the forwards. Junior Firpo is still out with a hamstring injury and remains unavailable for this clash.
Midfield
Marco Bielsa will continue to miss Kalvin Phillips in the middle of the park due to a hamstring injury. Adam Foreshaw is expected to come into the starting lineup and play alongside Mateusz Klich in the centre of the pitch. Both Klich and Foreshaw will look to control the tempo of the game from the middle of the park and progress the ball high up the pitch. The midfield battle will be key as Leeds will look to win as many second balls as possible in the centre of the pitch.
Jack Harrison, who is in a great run of form after scoring a hattrick recently, will start in the left-wing and Raphinha, who has been the talisman for Bielsa, will start from the right. Rodrigo will start as a number 10 behind the striker and will look to create chances for his teammates going forward. Tyler Roberts will provide options for Bielsa to bring on as a substitute in the latter stages of the game.
Attack
Daniel James will continue to lead the line for Leeds in the absence of Patrick Bamford. His outing against Villa will give him plenty of confidence going into this game after scoring a brace.
