Everton clash heads with Leeds United in this weekend’s Premier League clash at the Goodison Park on Saturday. The Toffees have only managed to win once in their last 15 Premier League games and have dropped down to 16th in the table. Everton’s last win came against Arsenal back in early December and since then they have suffered 5 defeats and 1 draw resulting in them dropping closer to the relegation zone. The arrival of Frank Lampard as the new manager hasn’t started well either as they lost to 17th placed Newcastle United in the midweek. Frank Lampard will hope to show an improved display on Saturday when they face Leeds at home.
4-2-3-1 Everton Predicted Lineup Vs Leeds United
Defence
The England international Jordan Pickford is an expected starter between the sticks for the Toffees.
Lampard will be without two of his centre-back choices as Yerry Mina is out with a quad injury and Ben Godfrey has suffered a hamstring injury. Micheal Keane will play alongside Mason Holgate at the heart of the defence. With no cleansheets in over 10 league games, it will be a huge task for both the English defenders to keep things tight at the back against a free-flowing Leeds.
Seamus Coleman and Vitalii Mykolenko are expected to start as full-backs for this game and they will need assistance from the wingers to help them keep the Leeds forwards quiet on the day.
Midfield
We might be able to see a fresh midfield pairing of Allan and Donny Van de Beek in the middle of the park on Saturday with the likes of Doucoure and Fabian Delph not available for selection due to injuries. Andre Gomes, who has been struggling for form recently, is expected to drop down to the bench and make his way for the new Dutch signing. Donny Van de Beek’s quality supply from the centre of the pitch will be key for the Toffees going forward.
Andros Townsend, who played as a left wing-back against the Magpies, is expected to move into his comfortable right-wing spot. Richarlison will move to the left-wing after Demarai Gray suffered an injury and hence will be unavailable for this clash. The Brazilian’s explosive wing-play will be the key in Lampard’s transition football going forward. Dele Alli will occupy the number 10 position behind the striker and will be looking to link the midfielders with the attackers.
Attack
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is expected to come into the starting eleven replacing Anthony Gordon to lead the line. The striker’s injury problem has been a massive blow for his side and his return will be very crucial if the Toffees aim to turn things around and not drop off into the relegation zone.
