West Ham United will lock horns with Leeds United at the London stadium on Sunday as they look to keep their top-four place in the league intact with a win. The Hammers are currently on a 4-game winning run and last week’s FA Cup 3rd round win vs the same opponent will give them immense confidence coming into this fixture. David Moyes will hope from his team to build on from last weekend’s performance and with the chasing pack not far behind, any points dropped will prove to be costly.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup Vs Leeds United
Defence
Lukasz Fabianski will start between the sticks for the Hammers and will aim for 3 consecutive cleansheets on Sunday against Leeds United.
The Hammers will be missing key defenders in the likes of Angelo Ogbonna, Kurt Zouma and Ryan Fredericks due to injuries for the clash against Leeds. With all the defensive issues on hand, David Moyes is expected to opt for a centre-back pairing of Craig Dawson and Issa Diop who have done well so far as a pair.
Vladimir Coufal and Aaron Cresswell will take up the full-back spots in the starting XI and will have the freedom to go up the pitch and make things happen for the West Ham attackers. Ben Johnson is expected to be on the bench on Sunday.
Midfield
The Hammers will be missing two of their key defender in the likes of Tomas Soucek who has tested positive for Covid-19 and Mark Noble who has suffered a knee injury. The reliable Declan Rice and Manuel Lanzini will be starting in the middle of the park for the Hammers. Both the midfielders have been a success for David Moyes in the last few games and is a key reason for the Hammers’ winning run in the league. It is believed that Pablo Fornals will start as the attacking midfielder to help link the midfield with the forward players.
Jarod Bowen, who is in exquisite form, will start alongside Nicola Vlasic on the flanks. Said Benrahma will be missing the tie since he is off for international duty this month. Alex Kral and Andriy Yarmolenko will cover for midfield options from the bench for David Moyes
Attack
Michail Antonio will lead the attack from the front for the Hammers. The Jamaican has returned to form recently after scoring twice and assisting once in the last 4 league games. The Hammers will need their top scorer to score again if they aim to maintain their top four spot in the Premier League.
