Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s injury is not so serious than it seemed before; Jose Mourinho has made it clear. The Armenian playmaker scored the solitary goal of the match before being carried out on a stretcher.
Manchester United ended their frustrating run in the Premier League by defeating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0. Henrikh Mkhitaryan produced another brilliant performance as his first goal at Old Trafford secured valuable three points for the Red Devils.
Harry Kane gave the ball away and Ander Herrera latched on it to feed a sublime pass to the 27-year-old. Mkhitaryan got past Spurs defence and powered the shot into the goal, giving Hugo Lloris no chance.
But United suffered a jolt when Spurs left-back Danny Rose caught the midfielder with a rough tackle, leaving the player in acute pain. Mourinho later confirmed that the injury is not so serious and he will probably miss a week or so and will be available for the Boxing Day match.
“We don’t think it is a serious injury. He can’t play but he will only be missing for about a week or so.
“We were worried (when he went down injured) but it doesn’t look like it will be a bad one.”
