In a recent report, Alfredo Pedulla claimed that Everton full-back Lucas Digne is set to leave the Merseyside club in January amid interest from Chelsea. It is understood that the Toffees outcast is on the radar of the Blues as well as Napoli ahead of the winter transfer window.

Digne’s Fall From Grace At Merseyside This Season

Digne has endured a frustrating few weeks at Goodison Park despite playing a prominent role in Everton’s first XI in the early goings of this campaign. The French defensive ace has fallen out of favour with Rafael Benitez and looks destined to part ways with the Toffees soon.

The 28-year-old has scored one goal and picked up four yellow cards in 15 appearances for his current club this season on all fronts. Digne has been a solid defender at the back but has struggled to be productive in the opposition half as he is averaging 2.5 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, 1.9 clearances, 0.7 shots, 1.7 key passes and 0.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football.

He is a decent crosser of the ball as well and can even chip in by scoring the odd goal.

A complete left-back of Digne’s skillset shouldn’t have any shortage of potential suitors. Thus, it makes sense for the player to opt for a change of scenery this winter so that he can get his career back on track at the highest level.
