In a recent report, Fichajes revealed that Bayer 04 Leverkusen forward Patrik Schick is on the radar of Barcelona. It is believed that the Catalan giants have identified the Czech Republic international as a target and could move in for him next year.
Schick’s Outstanding Goal-Scoring Record At The BayArena This Season
Schick is having a brilliant campaign in German football as he has scored goals at a high rate while acting as the spearhead of Leverkusen’s attack. The Praha-born talent has registered 16 goals and three assists in 18 matches for the German side this season across all fronts.
The 25-year-old has been quite productive in front of the opponent’s goal but has struggled to contribute in any other meaningful way in the final third. Schick is averaging 3.2 shots, 0.6 key passes and 0.4 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga.
He has also been a bit sloppy with his link-up play deep inside the opposition half after making only 68.1% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

What Will Schick Bring To Barcelona?
Standing at 1.91m, Schick can use his strong frame to dominate the opposition centre-backs in the air. He can hold possession up for others around him but needs to work on improving his passing in the attacking end of the field.
The Czech Republic international excels at creating space for himself to get a few shots in on-target and is developing himself into a decent finisher inside the opponent’s penalty area.
Schick has what it takes to serve as an ideal target man for Barcelona if Xavi can devise a way to get him on board next year. We can expect the Leverkusen talent to bring a lot of physicality and goals to Barca‘s attacking department.
He could even form a productive attacking partnership with Memphis Depay and Ansu Fati at the Nou Camp and might help the Catalan club get back to challenging for more trophies in the coming seasons. At 25, Schick’s best years are ahead of him, so Xavi could rely on him to make an instant impact as long as the player can make a smooth transition to life in Spanish football.
