The 21-year-old has enjoyed a rich vein of form in Argentine football after putting in a run of productive performances as the focal point of River Plate’s attack. The Calchin-born sensation has found the back of the net on 17 occasions and grabbed seven assists in 19 matches for the Argentine giants this season across all competitions.
Alvarez has been a consistent performer in the attacking end of the field as he is averaging 3.3 shots, 2.0 key passes, 1.0 crosses and 2.2 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Liga Professional. However, he needs to work on improving his ball distribution in the final third, based on his pass success rate of 73.6% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
