Jürgen Klopp has said that he has no idea when Daniel Sturridge is going to be fit. The England international has been sidelined with a calf problem after the Southampton match.
Since his injury, the striker didn’t feature against Sunderland, Leeds and Bournemouth. Liverpool suffered a jolt when they were beaten by Bournemouth 4-3 to end their 15 matches unbeaten run. Jürgen Klopp now only has Divock Origi as the fit striker at his disposal.
Sturridge didn’t travel with the squad to Barcelona. Liverpool will be looking to turn their fortunes when they will take on Struggling West Ham United in their next game.
Klopp said, “Hopefully he will be back as quick as possible – but I have no idea.
“We don’t have to think about him for West Ham or Middlesbrough… What’s the game after that? Everton? Maybe then but I have no idea.
“Maybe he will go on the pitch [in Friday’s training session], but that means we’re starting football work on the pitch and not with the team, with the rehab coach.
“You can’t force these things, it doesn’t matter the quality of the player. It’s not perfect with our situation with Phil [Philippe Coutinho] and Danny. He’s not happy, but that’s the life of a footballer.”
