In a recent report, The Mirror claimed that Barcelona are keeping tabs on Fleetwood Town starlet James Hill. It has been revealed that the Catalan giants sent a scout out to monitor the English centre-half’s performance in the 1-0 loss to Burton Albion back in October.
Hill’s Impressive Run Of Form In English Football This Season
The 19-year-old has managed to establish himself as a regular feature in Fleetwood’s first-team and has been responsible for performing at a high level for them in the League One. Hill has made 15 appearances for the Cod Army this season, netting one goal and securing four yellow cards in all competitions.
The Bristol-born talent has proven his worth as a valuable performer at the Highbury Stadium based on his average of 1.0 tackles, 2.0 interceptions and 6.0 clearances per game in the League One and the League Cup. However, he needs to work on improving his accuracy when distributing the ball after he completed 66.6% in domestic football (stats via whoscored).

Barcelona Monitoring Hill’s Progress: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Hill is a moderately-paced centre-back who can make some solid tackles to secure the ball back on the defensive end of the pitch. He loves to clear the danger when the opposition are on the offensive and can use his robust 1.84m frame to win a few headers in the air.
The English youngster is usually quick to spot the danger but needs to work on improving his passing if he intends to be a success story at the highest level. Joining the Catalan giants would be a big step in his career if Barca boss Xavi can find a way end up making a move for him in January or at the end of this campaign.
At 19, Hill is destined to have a very bright future in European football as long as he can continue to improve himself with each year. The Catalans need to invest on some talented youth players if they are to build a strong squad for the long run. Based on Hill’s recent form, he is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future, so Barca would do well to lure him to the Nou Camp.
