The Los Blancos host Rayo Vallecano is this week’s La Liga clash on Saturday. With a chance to go back to the top of the table, Real Madrid will leave no chance to clinch all 3 points in their home stadium. They will look to get back to winning ways at home after dropping points vs Elche to lead the La Liga title charge.
Rayo Vallecano will come into this game being high on confidence after clinching all 3 points from Real’s rivals Barcelona just a week back and will again look to cause an upset here.
Ancelotti will look to play a 4-3-3 setup and dominate the game with his experienced midfield players and his attackers Benzema and Vinicius.
Let’s take a look at how Real Madrid with lineup vs Rayo Vallecano on Saturday evening.
Defence
The Austrian centre-back David Alaba and Eder Militao are expected to start at the heart of the defence as they have done this season. The only change from midweek might come with Vazquez replacing Carvajal in the RB position. Ferland Mendy is expected to keep his place in the starting XI after a promising midweek display. Tibo Courtois will be in goal and will look to keep a cleansheet.
Ancelotti will expect his defence line to be higher up the pitch with Rayo Vallecano defending deep and not let the Vallecano attackers run past them on the counter.
Midfield
With Valverde sidelined with a knee injury, Ancelotti is left with very few options in the middle of the park. It is understood that Camavinga will take some time to get adjusted to the team and will start from the bench again.
The midfield trio of Casemiro, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos will again take on the field and look to control and dominate the game as well as spring passes and try to provide assists to their in-form attackers. Casemiro will have to make defensive contributions when the opposition will try to break with pace and his performance will be a key to Real Madrid keeping a cleansheet.
Attack
Vinicius Jr. and Benzema are in red hot form with them scoring 16 of Real’s 26 league goals this season. Vinicius’s blistering pace and off the ball runs has been a major issue for defenders whereas Benzema has been clinical in the box finishing as many chances he gets. Ancelotti will again rely on the duo to bring attacking returns from the game and help the Los Blancos go top of the table.
Ancelotti will have to make a change in the RW position with Rodrygo out with a hamstring injury. Marco Asensio is expected to get the nod ahead of Hazard as Ancelotti believes Asensio is yet to show his best form.
