PSG locked horns with German side RB Leipzig earlier tonight, hoping to pick up all three points away from their home. Christopher Nkunku broke the deadlock in the 8-minute-mark as he headed the ball past Donnarumma to make it 1-0 for the hosts. Georginio Wijnaldum turned the game on its head by scoring two decent goals in the first half itself. However, Dominik Szoboszlai converted from the spot in the 92nd minute to secure a precious point for the home side.
Let’s take a look at how each PSG player fared during the clash against The Red Bulls.
PSG Players Rated In Draw Vs RB Leipzig
Gianluigi Donnarumma 7
The Italian shot-stopper saved a penalty in the 12th minute, which prevented the visitors from falling behind by two goals in the early stages of the match.
Achraf Hakimi 6
The former Inter defender could have had a better influence in the attacking half of the pitch if he had better support from midfield. Nonetheless, he did his best to make the most of the opportunities.
Marquinhos 7
It seemed as if the Brazilian centre-back was the only man trying to defend at the heart of PSG’s backline. He had little to no support from Kimpembe at the back, but he made some brilliant tackles and blocks to keep his side in the game.
Presnel Kimpembe 4
The Frenchman was perhaps half asleep throughout the 90 minutes. He conceded an utterly unnecessary penalty as well.
Nuno Mendes 6
The Portuguese wing-back put up a mixed performance. He could get past his markers with little to no effort but couldn’t control the ball during the bursts of pace.
Danilo Periera 5
The Portuguese midfielder looked quite sluggish in the middle of the park as he was caught in possession of the ball way too many times.
Georginio Wijnaldum 8
No Messi, no problem. Wijnaldum turned the game on its head by scoring two decent goals in the first half itself. He looked pretty dangerous in the second forty-five minutes as well, but it’s a shame that his goal didn’t turn out to be the winner.
Idrissa Gueye 6
The Senegalese midfielder did most of the dirty job at the centre of the park as he kept intercepting the Leipzig counter-attacks time and again.
Neymar 6
The Brazilian star dribbled past his markers effortlessly and linked up the play really well. However, it never really looked like he had a goal in him.
Kylian Mbappe 5
Mbappe got himself the assist for Winjaldum’s first goal, but he missed a couple of golden goal-scoring chances, which turned out to be disastrous in the end.
Angel Di Maria 6
The Argentine international should have done better on the counter-attacks.
SUBSTITUTES (PSG Players Rated In Draw Vs RB Leipzig)
Julian Draxler 6
It was too late when he came on.
Ander Herrera 5
The Spaniard picked up a needless yellow card.
