Aston Villa entertained West Ham United at Villa Park earlier this evening as they focused on bagging all three points from this home game in the Premier League. The Villans made a sloppy start to the contest and conceded the opening goal in the seventh minute when Ben Johnson found the back of the net with a low strike for West Ham. However, the West Midlands side managed to equalise in the 34th minute courtesy of Ollie Watkins’ goal. Just four minutes later, Declan Rice restored West Ham’s lead by scoring with an excellent strike. Dean Smith’s men went into the half-time break 2-1 down on the scoreline.
Ezri Konsa received a red card just five minutes into the second half which made life even more difficult for the Villans. West Ham went on to add two more to their tally with a goal each from Pablo Fornals and Jarrod Bowen. The match finished with the Villans suffering a disappointing 4-1 defeat at home.
