Chelsea have always been known for spending lavishly and many a time, they have not been wise enough in the manner of forking the cashout whilst the acquisition of personnel who are unrequired at the club. The Blues have an inclination to invest on players with potential and to send them out on loan until they redeem the best in themselves. It might sound insane, but as many as 38 Chelsea players are out on loan in different parts of the world. It’s a blue world, indeed.
The latest upward trajectory and a phenomenon rise to the summit at the South West London based club is that of Victor Moses. The Nigerian international, who was loitering around helplessly past the last three seasons away on loan, is breathing a fresh life under the tutelage of Antonio Conte.
Moses’ success story can be an impetus for the ones being sent out to prove themselves fit enough to ply their trade at Chelsea. With respect to the same, we have vouched three farmed out players who can challenge for first team action next season.
Andreas Christensen
One of the formidable assets Chelsea still have in their books to capitalise on in the near future is the staggeringly resilient defender in Andreas Christensen. The 20-year-old is currently in his second season in his two-year loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach where he has impressed one and all.
Considering that Chelsea’s defensive options are likely to be reassessed next season as the backline have a few old defenders, Christensen can avail himself as someone worth relying on. The Danish youngster had a 100% success rate in tackles against the mighty Barcelona side this season and no wonders why he is so highly rated by the Bundesliga outfit.
Tammy Abraham
Currently on loan to Championship side Bristol City, Tammy Abraham is a force to reckon with as far as catering to attacking pursuits of a side is concerned. The 19-year-old is arguably the most promising player for the Pensioners out on loan as he has already netted as many as 13 goals this season which have made the eyes of fans, pundits and scouts turn to him.
Physically, technically and attacking as sound as one can be at the age, Abraham can sure-shot make a cut into the Chelsea side very soon as he has been recognised for his displays time and again: he has won the Championship Player of the Month award in August and September and has earned a call-up for the England Under-21 side.
Conte, are you keeping a tab on this starlet?
Bertrand Traoré
A loan prodigy of Chelsea, another forward to be constantly monitored is Bertrand Traoré. The Burkina Faso international was sent on loan to Vitesse last season where he was quite impressive, which has been followed by a loan spell once again, this time to Ajax.
In a total of 12 league appearances, the 21-year-old has scored 4 goals with a shot accuracy of 55%, created 12 chances and has had a pass accuracy of 82% and thus, the Chelsea faithful are very optimistic about his return to Stamford Bridge.
