Watford have a difficult fixture to contend with this weekend as Everton come calling to the Vicarage Road. The Hornets had a tough last weekend where they were soundly beaten 3-1 by an in-form West Bromwich Albion. Tony Pulis has changed things around drastically and Watford got stunned by the attacking intent and impetus shown by the Baggies. They were floored by goals from Brunt, Evans and Phillips while Kabasele scored the consolation goal for the Hornets.
But they will have to pick themselves up as another difficult looking fixture is on the horizon. The Toffees are on the back of a morale-boosting 1-1 draw against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United. In a match where they slowly settled and matched United in every department, later on, a Baines penalty was enough to stem the flow of poor results coming their way.
Walter Mazzarri will know that Everton will be looking for a win as their opponents face Liverpool, Arsenal and reigning Champions Leicester City in the next 3 fixtures. He will most likely set-up his team to counter Everton’s attacking approach.
With a match against Manchester City up next, there will be an urgency to get a favourable result at home and going by how they have played till now in the season, it doesn’t seem to be a task of mammoth proportions.
PREDICTED WATFORD LINE-UP VS EVERTON (5-4-1)
DEFENCE
Heurelho Gomes will be in goal and has to be assertive and commanding in the box. Especially during set-pieces with Romelu Lukaku posing a considerable threat in the air. With Kaboul expected to be fit in time for the match, we might once again see a back three consisting of Prodl, Kaboul and Britos.
The trio was involved in an impressive 2-1 win over Leicester and will want to keep Everton at bay. Holebas is likely to be in the left wing-back position and will look to bomb forward and keep the likes of Deulofeu busy in their own half. Zuniga was deployed at right-back last match and might be used as a right wing-back in the weekend.
MIDFIELD
Capoue has been in phenomenal form this season especially in front of goal and his withdrawn position has not completely shut him out of further scoring opportunities. Behrami is likely to partner him in midfield. The duo has to be strong and decisive in the midfield battle against Barry and Gueye.
ATTACK
With Pereyra banned, Issac Success might get his chance to succeed finally. Amrabat is likely to be on the right-wing with Troy Deeney up top.
