Tottenham Hotspur will clash heads with Newcastle United at St. James Park on Sunday evening, hoping to pick up all three points away from home. The Lilywhites will be heading into the contest on the back of a thrilling 2-1 win against Aston Villa, whereas the hosts recorded a 2-1 loss versus Wolverhampton Wanderers on October 2.
Nuno Espirito Santo will probably opt for the 4-3-3 formation with a couple of tweaks from the last game. Joe Rondon might get the nod over Christian Romero, whereas Japhet Tanganga looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.
4-3-3 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup Vs Newcastle United
Defence
Hugo Lloris will operate in between the sticks for the upcoming clash. The France shot-stopper will be hoping to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Sunday.
Joe Rondon will form the centre-half partnership with Eric Dier at the heart of Spurs’ backline.
Sergio Reguilon is a guaranteed starter at the left-back position, whereas Japhet Tanganga will fill in on the other flank as the right-back. The full-backs will be expected to stay compact and keep their shape defensively.
Midfield
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg might start in the holding midfield position and could be assigned with more of a defensive role to shield the away side’s back-four.
Oliver Skipp will slot into the central midfield role, whereas Tanguy Ndombele is expected to start in the attacking midfield position. The duo would be determined to set up some clear cut goal scoring chances for the front men.
Dele Alli will have to settle for a place on the bench, but he could come on to make a cameo appearance in the second half.
Attack
Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura will take up the wide positions, playing on the left and right-wing, respectively.
Harry Kane will lead the line for Tottenham Hotspur this weekend. The England international will be hoping to get his name on the scoresheet when he faces off against the Magpies defence that has conceded eight goals in their last four league matches.
