West Ham United are plotting a bid for Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini. The East Londoners are currently languishing at the 17th place after failing to win their last five matches. They were hammered 5-1 by Arsenal in their last match.
Jose Mourinho is planning a squad overhaul in January and might allow the player to leave. The Belgian who was signed from Everton has been mostly on the bench this season as he started in only eight matches in the top flight. The 29-year old was responsible for conceding a late penalty against his former club Everton in the 1-1 draw.
The 5-1 defeat to Arsenal piled more misery on Hammers boss Slaven Bilic whose future is in doubt if he fails to win his next two matches. West Ham finished seventh last season but have failed to replicate their form in this season.
Fellaini is wanted by the Hammers as on-loan striker Simone Zaza is going through a goal drought and the lanky Belgian has the calibre to play upfront or add more strength to the Hammers’ midfield.
Bilic is confident that the player can be a hit at the London Stadium, “When you have on the bench a player with two metres [in height] you play the player in front of the defensive line to help the team to win the match.”
