In a recent report, Calciomercato mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur could give up Tanguy Ndombele for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie when the transfer window reopens in January. It is understood that Spurs are prepared to ‘get serious’ about recruiting the Ivory Coast international but could face competition in the form of Paris Saint-Germain in pursuit of him during the winter transfer period.
Kessie’s Impressive Numbers In Italian Football
The 24-year-old enjoyed a decent run of form for the Milan outfit last season when he put in a series of dominant displays at the heart of their midfield. Kessie participated in 50 matches for the Italian giants in the previous campaign, netting 14 goals and grabbing six assists on all fronts.
The Ivory Coast midfield ace was an influential presence at both ends of the field as he did well to average 1.4 tackles, 1.2 interceptions, 1.3 clearances, 1.3 shots, 0.8 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per game in Serie A last season. Kessie was a decent distributor of the ball as well after he completed 88.9% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
The Ouragahio-born talent has got less than 12 months left to run in his current contract at San Siro, so AC Milan would have no choice but to sell him for a discount in January which could open the door for Tottenham to acquire his services.
