Vlasic’s Rich Vein Of Form In Russian Football Last Season
The 23-year-old had a brilliant season in Russian football recently after he managed to put in a handful of impressive performances as a key member of CSKA Moscow’s first team. Vlasic was involved in 34 matches for his current employers in the previous campaign, scoring 12 goals and securing six assists across all competitions.
The Croatia international proved his worth as a productive attacking midfielder by averaging 4.0 shots, 2.8 key passes and 1.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in the 2020-21 Russian Premier League. He was even tidy when interchanging possession with his teammates in the opposition half based on his pass success rate of 80.9% in the Russian top tier (stats via whoscored).
Vlasic could turn out to be a shrewd addition to the Hammers squad as he will undeniably ease Michail Antonio’s goal-scoring burden and could even offer decent service for the English striker at the East London club in the coming seasons.
Is Vlasic A Decent Choice For The Hammers?
Vlasic has a knack for finding a yard of space for himself and get some accurate shots in on-target. He has got the ability to engineer some inviting chances for his teammates to score and can even pull off a few dangerous sprints in the final third.
The Croat attacker is good enough to fill Jesse Lingard’s void at the London Stadium if Moyes fails to get the Manchester United playmaker on board before the end of this summer transfer window. West Ham can use someone of Vlasic’s quality and there is no doubt that he would add some healthy competition for Pablo Fornals and Said Benrahma in the race to start in the number ten position for Moyes’ first team.
With all things considered, Vlasic has the makings of a top talent, so he would a good, long-term choice for the London club this summer. However, it might take the player some time to settle into life in England, so Moyes should think about easing him into his squad if he can sign him before the transfer deadline.
