Tottenham Hotspur will lock horns with Watford on Sunday afternoon, hoping to pick up their third consecutive win of the campaign. The Lilywhites will be heading into the contest on the back of a narrow 1-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers, whereas the Hornets recorded a 2-0 defeat to Brighton last week.
Nuno Espirito Santo will probably opt for the 4-3-3 formation with a couple of tweaks from the last game as Harry Kane seems likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.
4-3-3 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup Vs Watford
Defence
Hugo Lloris will operate in between the sticks for the upcoming clash. The French shot-stopper will be hoping to put up a strong performance and add to his tally of two clean sheets on Sunday.
Eric Dier will continue to form the centre-half partnership with Davidson Sanchez at the heart of Spurs’ backline.
Sergio Reguilon will start at the left-back position, whereas Japhet Tanganga will fill in on the other flank as the right-back. The full-backs will be expected to stay compact and keep their shape defensively.
Midfield
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg might start in the holding midfield position and could be assigned with more of a defensive role to shield the home side’s back-four.
Oliver Skipp will slot into the central midfield role, whereas Dele Alli is expected to start in the attacking midfield position. The duo would be determined to set up some clear cut goal scoring chances for the front men.
Giovani Lo Celso will have to settle for a place on the bench, but he could come on to make a cameo appearance in the second half.
Attack
Son Heung-min and Steven Bergwijn will take up the wide positions, playing on the left and right-wing, respectively.
Tweeting on Wednesday, Harry Kane confirmed that he’d be staying at Tottenham this summer.
“It was incredible to see the reception from the Spurs fans on Sunday and to read some of the messages of support I’ve had in the last few weeks.
I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success.”
As a result, the Englishman is expected to lead the line for his side this weekend. He would be hoping to get his name on the scoresheet when he faces off against the Watford defence that has conceded four goals in their last two matches.
