Adolfo Gaich made his breakthrough at San Lorenzo, in the Argentine top division. He was highly rated at the time, so it was rather a surprise to see him move to CSKA Moscow for just €8.5 million.
Unfortunately, the move didn’t work out all too well for him, with the forward joining Benevento in January on a short-term loan deal. His new adventure in Serie A saw him scoring only two goals in 15 league appearances.
Despite his struggles, though, Gaich is still highly regarded as a future talent. His imposing 1.90m frame, coupled with his goalscoring traits, make him quite a unique asset to Argentine football, where most of the attackers are heavily technique-oriented.
