Wolverhampton Wanderers will entertain Tottenham Hotspur at the Molineux Stadium on Sunday afternoon as they try to pick up a victory in front of their home supporters. The West Midlands outfit suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Leicester City in the derby last weekend, so Bruno Lage will expect a positive showing from his players later this week.
Wolves could set up in their favoured 3-4-3 formation once again with Lage expected to make one tweak to his first XI for this game. Nelson Semedo could come into the side to feature as the right wing-back in place of Ki-Jana Hoever who would be named on the bench.
3-4-3 Wolves Predicted Lineup To Face Tottenham Hotspur
Defence
Jose Sa will operate as Wolves’ primary keeper after he shipped in one goal versus the Foxes earlier this month. Lage could opt for a back three of Max Kilman, Conor Coady and Romain Saïss as they all try to produce a solid defensive performance against Spurs this weekend.
Leander Dendoncker could offer some cover for the centre-back positions on the bench even though he is primarily a holding midfielder.
Midfield
Joao Moutinho will resume his midfield partnership with Ruben Neves as they try to conjure up some decent chances for their teammates in the Tottenham half. Marcal will get another chance to impress as the left wing-back while Nelson Semedo fills in down the right flank.
All four Wolves midfielders will have to work together if they are to collectively stop Nuno Espirito Santo’s side from enjoying more of the ball at the centre of the park. Morgan Gibbs-White and Ki-Jana Hoever will have to settle for a spot on the bench but might come on to influence the game in the final quarter of the match if required.
Attack
Adama Traore will hope to use his pace to cause a lot of problems for the Tottenham defenders on the left wing. Trincao will be eager to prove his worth to the Wolves supporters by putting in an impressive performance on the right.
Raul Jimenez will lead the line for the Midlands outfit down the middle. The Mexican striker needs a goal to boost his confidence, so this game could be an ideal chance for him to shine in front of the Wolves fans.
Fabio Silva will once again be a part of Lage’s bench as he waits for his opportunity to feature in the game as a substitute if needed.
