Manchester City will play hosts to Norwich City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they look to bounce back in the Premier League with a convincing win at home. The Mancunian giants suffered a 1-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month, so Pep Guardiola will demand a positive response from his players this weekend.
Man City will once again set up in a 4-3-3 formation with Guardiola expected to make a couple of changes to his first-team for this game. Both Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kevin De Bruyne could be in line to start at the expense of Benjamin Mendy and Ilkay Gundogan, who is a major doubt this weekend due to a shoulder injury.
4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Norwich City
Defence
Ederson will function in between the sticks for Man City after conceding a goal against Spurs in his last league outing. Nathan Ake will get another shot to impress alongside Ruben Dias at the centre of the Man City backline. Their main focus would be to neutralise the threat of Norwich City’s Teemu Pukki this weekend.
Joao Cancelo could operate at right-back while Oleksandr Zinchenko comes into the side to fill in as the left-back. Guardiola would ask his full-backs to push high up the field and offer decent service to their teammates up top.
John Stones will have to be content with a place on the bench but might come on in the latter stages of the game if needed.
Midfield
Jack Grealish, Fernandinho and Kevin De Bruyne could make up Man City’s midfield on Saturday. The talented trio will be responsible for dominating possession at the centre of the park and engineering some clear-cut opportunities for the front players to score.
Ilkay Gundogan might be unavailable, so Rodri will offer cover for the midfield positions on the bench.
Attack
Raheem Sterling will get another chance to shine as the left-sided wide player while Riyad Mahrez is expected to get the nod to function down the right flank. Ferran Torres will once again have to serve as a makeshift centre-forward for Man City up top.
Gabriel Jesus will be named on the bench as he awaits his opportunity to make an impact as a second-half substitute if required.
