Liverpool have been suffered a jolt in the pursuit of Torino frontman, Andrea Belotti, as the Italian has put pen to paper on a new contract.
The new contract will ensure his stay until 2021 and he has a release clause of € 100m. A number of Premier League clubs including Liverpool were very interested in the attacker.
The 22-year-old moved from Palermo in 2015 and has already bagged 10 goals in the Serie A. Due to his heroics, Torino are currently placed in seventh place. He is right now the second highest scorer behind Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi.
Klopp is known to be a keen admirer of the player. With the absence of Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings, the 22-year-old could have been a good replacement. Representatives of Manchester United and Arsenal were also believed to have scouted the start but will be very disappointed with his contract renewal.
Torino president Urbano Cairio confirmed the development, “I’m delighted to announce that Belotti has signed a contract extension until 2021 and with a € 100 million release clause which can only be activated by foreign clubs.”
