England will lock horns with Italy at the Wembley Stadium on Sunday night, hoping to ultimately win the Euro 2020 tournament. The Three Lions will be coming into the match on the back of a narrow 2-1 win over Denmark, whereas Roberto Mancini’s men defeated Spain 4-2 on penalties in the semi-finals.
Roberto Mancini will probably opt for the 4-3-3 formation; however, he might keep changes to a minimum for the upcoming clash.
4-3-3 Italy Predicted Lineup Vs England
Defence
Gianluigi Donnarumma is expected to start in goal for the upcoming encounter. The AC Milan shot-stopper would be looking to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Sunday.
Leonardo Bonucci will continue to form the centre-half partnership with Giorgio Chiellini at the heart of Italy’s backline.
Giovanni Di Lorenzo is a guaranteed starter at the right-back position, whereas Emerson will fill in on the left flank in the absence of Leonardo Spinazzola. The duo would be expected to stay compact and keep their shape defensively.
Midfield
Jorginho is expected to start in the central midfield position, whereas Nicolo Barella will slot in as the defensive midfielder. The pair would be looking to put up a strong performance and dominate the midfield proceedings against England. Marco Veratti seems likely to start in a more advanced position.
Matteo Pessina will have to settle for a place on the bench but could be brought on in the latter stages of the game if needed.
Attack
Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Chiesa will take up the wide positions, playing on the left and right-wing respectively. The former scored a stunning goal against Belgium in the last round as he helped the Azzurri record a 2-1 victory, and it goes without saying that he’d be determined to repeat more of the same on Sunday.
Ciro Immobile is expected to lead the line for his side against England. The 31-year-old would hope to get his name on the scoresheet when he faces off against the English defence that has conceded just once in their last six games.
